Preamble
The NHKSTUDIOPARK-WiFi Terms of Use, (hereinafter, the Terms) lay down the conditions on which the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (hereinafter, NHK) provides the public wireless NHK STUDIO PARK LAN service (hereinafter, the Service) to individual visitors (hereinafter, Users) at the NHK STUDIO PARK (hereinafter, STUDIO PARK) visiting facility managed by NHK, and the rights and obligations arising between the Users and NHK in regard to use of the Service.Article One Scope of Application of the Terms
- Use of the Service shall be made available to those who agree to the Terms. It shall be understood that Users who start making use of the Service have agreed to the entire contents of the Terms.
Article Two Contents of the Service
- The Service is a telecommunications service which uses facilities provided by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (hereinafter, NTT East) to provide an Internet connection for Users.
- To use the Service, Users are required to agree to both these Terms and the terms of use laid down separately by NTT East at:

Article Three Method of Use
- The Service is provided for visitors at STUDIO PARK.
- The Service provides connection by means of the wireless LAN connection functions of the Users’ smartphones, tablets, personal computers etc.
- The Service is provided free of charge. Users of fee-paying services on the Internet shall, however, bear any charges which accrue from these.
- For maximum convenience, encryption is not provided in the Service. Users are expected to implement security measures on their own devices which they use to access the Service.
- Access to the Service shall be cut off after one hour. There is, however, no limit to how many times the Service can be accessed in a day.
Article Four Record of Use
- Records shall be kept of the level of connection to the Service and connected devices (not including personal information) for the purposes of monitoring the amount of use and checking for unauthorized access.
Article Five Prohibited Items
The following behaviors are forbidden when using the Service.
- Behaviors which infringe on the copyright, assets, privacy or other rights of NHK or any third party or which are considered possibly to infringe on the same.
- Behaviors which damage the interests of NHK or any third party or which are considered possibly to damage the same .
- Behaviors which slander NHK or any third party.
- The unauthorized collection, public display or disclosure of information etc. belonging to NHK or any third party.
- Behaviors which are inimical to public order or morals.
- Behaviors which are criminal or linked to criminal activity, or behaviors which are considered possibly to be the same.
- The use of harmful programs containing computer viruses etc. through or in relation to the Service, or adding of such programs to the Service.
- The sending, induction or direction of large numbers of e-mails for the purposes of Internet sales, chain sales, commercial transactions etc. to either specified or non-specified recipients.
- Unauthorized access activities which are prohibited by law or may be considered possibly to be the same.
- Behaviors which infringe on laws or legal regulations or are considered possibly to do the same.
- Systematic use by a corporation etc.
- Behaviors which infringe on the Terms.
- Any other behaviors which NHK deems to be inappropriate.
Article Six Revision, Suspension and Discontinuation of the Service
- NHK reserves the right to revise, suspend or discontinue the Service as it deems fit without notifying Users of the same.
Article Seven Exemption from Responsibility
- NHK shall not respond to individual inquiries from Users regarding the settings, connection procedures etc. of their particular smartphones, tablets, personal computers etc.
- NHK provides no guarantee regarding the reception conditions or state with regard to either connectivity or speed.
- No guarantee of any kind is provided regarding any information etc. obtained by means of the Internet connection provided by the Service.
- NHK shall not be held responsible for any damage suffered by the User through the provision of the Service, nor any damage suffered by the User from not being able to use the Service, nor any other damage suffered by the User.
Article Eight Changes to the Terms
- NHK reserves the right to change the Terms without seeking the approval of Users or informing them in advance.
- Users who use the Service after a change has been implemented shall be deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms of Use.
Article Nine Compensation for Damages
- Users shall be held responsible and bear the costs of any damages which they suffer through their use of the Service and NHK shall not bear any responsibility for compensating the same.
- The Users shall bear the costs of compensation for any damage to NHK caused by their use of the Service in contravention of the Terms.
Article Ten Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- The governing law of the Terms shall be the Law of Japan.
- Any disputes arising in relation to the Terms shall be referred to the Tokyo District Court as the first court of jurisdiction.
Addendum
- The Terms shall apply from 1st May, 2017.
